WEDNESDAY, 3 JUNE
We're arriving on Wednesday, so that we can go to the courthouse and get our marriage license! If you're planning to be in town that day, let us know.
THURSDAY, 4 JUNE
CLASSIC COCKTAIL walking tour 9:00pm-
carousel bar, napoleon house, lafitte's blacksmith shop &
pat o'brien's
New Orleans has been the birthplace of so many now-famous cocktails, and what better way to get to know the city than to take an informal tour of this history? Our vision was to have a fun way for everyone in town to get together -- drink as much or as little as you like - and in NOLA, you can always take your drink with you to the next stop.
We'll start at the Carousel Bar at the Hotel Monteleone (which has a real, working carousel), and a reputation for good Sazeracs, and stop at Napoleon House (which has an apartment built for the Emperor himself, should he ever have managed to escape from Elba) for their legendary Pimm's Cups. We'll also visit Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop (named for the pirate, and one of the oldest, if not the oldest, continuously-running bars in the United States). And finally, we'll stop at Pat O'Brien's (birthplace of the Hurricane) with its famous dueling pianos.
Sunday, 7 June
informal brunch 11:00AM
Court of the two sisters
We love this New Orleans institution for a classic jazz brunch - great food and a great deal, with jazz playing in the background. It will be a nice send-off from the city on Sunday morning.
It fills up, so advance reservations are strongly suggested - you can make them online or by calling (504) 522-7261 - request to sit near the jazz trio!
